Josh's hat



Here's a picture of the NY hat I made for Josh. Since this time I wrote down what I did for the letters, Meagan's hat looks almost exactly the same. They said they were good luck to wave in the air but bad luck to wear during a game... I guess we'll have to see again this weekend!

How long did it take you to make it? And where did you get the NY logo pattern from?

It doesn't really take all that long to make the base hat, it depends on how fast you crochet. It takes me about two hours to make the panels and no time at all to sew them together. The white trim only takes a couple minutes. Sewing the letters on takes the most time because I'm anal retentive about them being straight. As for making the letters themselves, I just made it up from a pic of the logo. There are actually four pieces and the curvy bits of the N and the Y are actually the same piece just turned. Then they are appliquéd on the hat. I'm making two more right now and they are at this stage.
